Hart, a senior from Madison, Miss., is the first two-time All-American at UCA since the program moved to the FCS level. Hart was named to the second team, along with fellow Southland Conference players Tim Knicky, a defensive end from Stephen F. Austin, and running back Toddrick Pendland of McNeese State.

"I'm very excited for Larry,' said UCA head coach Clint Conque. "This is a tremendous honor. It's another benchmark for our young Division I program as he is our first two-time Division I All-American. It's a great honor for Larry and for the UCA football program.'

Hart was named the Southland Defensive Player of the Year for the second consecutive year last month. He shared the award with Knicky this season. He tied for second in the SLC in sacks with 12 and was ninth in tackles for loss (10.5). Hart also led the league in forced fumbles (4) and had two blocked kicks, one fumble recovery and one interception.

Hart, named an All-American by four different organizations in 2008, is third in career sacks at UCA with 21.5 in just two seasons since transferring from Holmes Community College. He has received an invitation to play in the Pro Football Hall of Fame Texas vs. the Nation Challenge, an All-Star Game played in El Paso, Texas, in February.
