UALR, South Alabama Set for ESPN2 Tip

South Alabama, winners of four of their last five games, will face UALR, last year's Sun Belt Conference West Division champions, in the Sun Belt Conference opener for both teams .

The game will be broadcast on national television courtesy of ESPN2. The tip is set for 8:05 p.m. central time. USA (7-3) will look to guards Bryan Sherrer and Tim Williams to lead the way for the Jags. Williams leads the team in most offensive categories averaging 14 points per game, 7.8 rebounds per game, 2.5 assists per game, and 1.5 steals per game.

Sherrer has posted four straight double-digit scoring games for USA, which finished 10-8 in Sun Belt play last year. The Jags are currently 4-1 at home this year in the Mitchell Center.

UALR (4-6) will be playing in its second nationally-televised game this season after facing Tulsa on ESPN as part of the network's 24-hour College Hoops Tip-Off Marathon on Nov. 17.

The Trojans finished 15-3 last year in the SBC earning the conference's No. 2 seed in the men's basketball tournament. This season the Trojans are led by junior-transfer Solomon Bozeman who is averaging 15.5 points per game and 4.4 assists per game. Against Memphis on Dec. 12 Bozeman scored 23 points to lead UALR.

Bozeman has scored in double figures in every game this season for the Trojans.

UALR's six losses have gone to teams with a combined 42-10 record (.807 winning pct.).
