In a North Little Rock sporting goods store, a fisherman is on a shopping spree, buying poles and tackle for his big day out on the lake.

"What do you want? Grab what you want just grab it."

He was awarded with a $500 gift certificate to purchase what ever he wants. But that was just the lure to get him there. You see, Jerry Hazel just landed the biggest catch of his 55 years.

Hazel laughs, "It's like what would you say, the first day of the rest of your life?"

His best friend John Higman helped make it happen.

"I am fixing to donate you $86,000," announces Higman.

Hazel cries, "Do what?"

"Fixing to donate you $86,000 to start your life with today," replies Higman.

Higman met Hazel about 12 years ago on the streets of Texas. Hazel was homeless and ever since Higman has given him odd jobs to survive. But when Higman recently won Arkansas Big Bass Bonanza Tournament, he got an idea for his $100,000 prize.

"America needs to start giving back and I am going to be the first one here today," says Higman.

And Hazel is prepared to start reeling in his change of luck.

"I am going to buy some land and probably build me a house," he says.

It's all thanks to his fishing friend, made possible by a catch of a lifetime and a friendship hooked for life.

"You've already paid me Jerry. It's time to give back," says Higman.

Hazel replies, "I still can't believe it."

Higman won $100,000 in the tournament. He had to keep $14,000 of it to pay taxes.
