Jack Ratliff is a second grader at Westside Elementary in Cabot. He won the Golden Apple student award for the month of December and here's why: Aaroyn Johnson.

She has been his best friend since kindergarten. She is afflicted with autism. Jack decided to do something about it.

He organized a bake sale, and the Westside teachers brought their best goods. Jack, though only 7, researched which agency would benefit the most from the money he raised. He ended up sending the $325 he raised to Generation Rescue.

It's an organization that believes autism is curable. That was good enough for Jack. He wants to see his friend get better. Despite the success of the bake sale, you get the feeling Jack is just gett
