A Mississippi River bridge north of Arkansas was shut down for two hours after it was struck by a barge and had to be inspected for damage. A pier supporting the Interstate 155 bridge between Dyersburg, Tenn., and Caruthersville, Mo., was hit early Sunday morning.

The State Gazette reports that the barge operator notified Missouri authorities shortly after the accident and they later stopped river and highway traffic.

Crews from the U.S. Coast Guard and the Tennessee Department of Transportation found no structural damage and allowed the bridge to reopen.
