A police siren that can't be ignored. Police in Oklahoma are excited over a new piece of equipment called the "Rumbler." It is a very loud siren - so noisy that drivers will be able to feel their seats vibrate from the sound.

The low tone is also surprising many drivers -making them look up and pull over.

"It's a deeper tone than the normal," says driver Abby Ross.

And you don't just hear the Rumbler, you feel it.

"A little bit, just a little bit. A little vibration in the seat and the car, not a big difference but enough to know they're back there," adds driver Don Balente. And that's exactly why Tulsa Police bought them. Officers say, even with their lights on and sirens blaring, drivers don't notice their patrol cars.

"Just last week I followed an individual from 21st to 51st on 169 with my lights and sirens on, and they never moved and never knew I was there," said Officer Harold Goad.

Drivers can feel the Rumbler 50 to 70 yards away from the officer.

"I like it. I used it this morning and yesterday and in one or 2 cases it was obvious the Rumbler brought the attention to the driver," Goad adds.

The Rumber gets so much attention, it can make you wonder if it poses a health risk?

"I stopped an older lady this morning and I didn't see any different reaction from her from the Rumbler than my regular siren," Goad said.

Doctors say they don't know enough about the Rumbler to make a comment, but police say, it's like any high tech sound system - the woofer and amplifier making you feel a slight tremor in your body.
