Sherwood police arrested a man who they say attempted to steal four-wheelers from a man's home, but have not released any further information about the dead body later found in his yard.
Police say 18-year-old Lamarcus Dunn of North Little Rock was one of two men who tried to take the vehicles from Larry Staley's home Tuesday night. Twelve hours later, his wife found the body of 18-year-old Bryant Cross of McAlmont in a creek bed near the home. Staley admitted to police that he fired shots into the air and into the creek bed in order to scare a suspected robber away.
Investigators are still awaiting a coroner's report on how Cross died. They have not determined whether Dunn knew Cross or if Cross was involved in the robbery attempt.
Dunn faces a criminal trespass charge and an attempted theft of property charge, which is a felony.
