Updated: One Dead, One Seriously Injured in LR Shoot-Out

Police say two people starting shooting across Asher, when the owner of the Xpress Auto Store returned fire.

According to Little Rock police spokesman Lt. Terry Hastings, aroung 5pm around the 5400 block of Asher, a group of individuals met at the Xpress Auto Store. A shoot-out occurred between the two individuals across Asher.

Hastings says it was then that the owner of Xpress Auto fired shots but was not injured possibly defending his store.

Hastings says, "We're not sure what's the cause, but all we know is that there was a disturbance of some kind. Our investigators will be updating us throughout the night."

During the shooting, two people were hit. One of the two individuals is dead and was involved in the altercation, the second is in critical condition but police are unsure of their involvement.

Police know the name of the suspect but are not releasing it at this time.
