The Humane Society of the United States says it will sue Amazon.com over its sale of two cockfighting magazines.

The Feathered Warrior is mailed from De Queen, Ark., and another, The Gamecock is mailed from Hartford.

The Humane Society alleges the online retailer is breaking the Animal Welfare Act. The group says the law "prohibits the use of the U.S. mail for the purpose of promoting or furthering animal fighting activities."

The Humane Society also has tried to get the U.S. Postal Service to stop delivering the magazines. Cockfighting is legal in Louisiana and New Mexico. Amazon.com did not immediately return a call for comment.
