Obviously, nothing in life is completely free - but items on Swaptree are pretty close! Swaptree is a place where you can trade books, video games, CD's and DVD's that you own for thousands of items that you want all for free!

Swaptree is easy to use, too. Simply post what items you want and what items you want to get rid of, then the site matches you with potential traders.

The site recommends you put about 10 items on both your "Want list" and "Have list." Users can only initiate trades with you if there are items on your want list.

Use the search box to quickly find items for which you are looking. You can search for an item by title, author, artist, actor or game publisher.

While you may not find anything at first--don't worry. Because of the search system that Swaptree uses, as soon as a single user wants an item, you'll be able to receive tons of items for yours.

As you add items to your "Have list", the bar at the top of your screen updates with the total number of items you can receive in trade. Swaptree will show you all of the items that you can received for your traded ones.

Click on a "Get Now" link next to an item for information about both the item and the trader. Once the other trader accepts, the transaction is complete and you will then be provided the shipping address where you need to ship your item. And what's great about shipping - it's usually less than $3.00 and you can print postage right from the site!
