A spokesman for Attorney General Dustin McDaniel said Tuesday that letters were being sent to Gov. Mike Beebe asking that dates be set for the executions of convicted killers Don William Davis, Jack Harold Jones and Stacey Eugene Johnson.

The move comes after the state Supreme Court in October upheld a state law aimed at stopping a challenge to Arkansas' lethal injection procedures.

In that ruling, justices ordered a lower court to lift an injunction halting Frank Williams Jr.'s execution. Williams' lawsuit was the last obstacle remaining before the attorney general's office could begin naming inmates ready to be executed.

Arkansas' last execution occurred in 2005.
