Valley's request is a response to a Nov. 19 letter from Prosecuting Attorney Fletcher Long. Long asked the mayor to investigate findings in a state audit that found nearly $60,000 was improperly disbursed to workers.
The audit, made public in September, includes allegations of violations of fiscal responsibility and management laws for city government. Valley says the undocumented reimbursements date back to 2007.
The $59,466 in disbursements consisted of travel advances not subsequently documented, items not documented for a public purpose, alcoholic beverages, conference fees and meal expenses for nonemployees.
