The couple, who just celebrated their 70th anniversary, says there's still a lot to be thankful for.

"I was sitting in the neighbor's house on the couch, and I looked up and though Lord, we still have a lot to be thankful for, we have each other," says Flora Cato.

According to the Pulaski County Sheriff's Dept., the explosion was caused by a gas leak.

The Cato's say they remember smelling hints of gas last week, but could not pinpoint the problem.

Everyone from the community is pitching in to help the couple.
"When I received the call, they said they're OK, they're OK, but I wanted to see for myself that they were OK," says long time family friend Florence Routh. "And then I wanted to take them home with me if they were willing to go."

Luckily, no one was injured in the fire. As for Thanksgiving, they plan to spend it with their nieces and nephews

The Sheriff's Department is still unsure what sparked the actual fire, but says the leak came from a water heater.
