Deputies say 35-year-old Michael Feathers is a cyber criminal who preys on children.
"I can't understand why someone would do this," says Lt. Matt Rice with the Faulkner County Sheriff's Office.
A cyber tip sent Feathers to jail charged with 23 counts of child pornography. At his home, Rice says they found children's underwear, a camera, computer and several CDs full of child porn.
Investigators say he asked for the pictures from people on the social networking site ning.com. More charges are expected.
Rice says, "It gives me chills just thinking about it. It's something that you never want to think about. It is the worst of the worst, and there are people out there that do it."
It's why Rice wants to do more, especially as technology continues to advance. His ultimate goal is to have a department completely devoted full-time to finding online predators. Right now though funding and staff are an issue.
He explains, "It is going to get worse. We know that, so we are trying to do what we can. We will never get all of it and we will never really get to the top of it, but we are going to do every part we can."
It's one arrest at a time and a watchful eye from those who protect.
"Hopefully we have saved someone from that," says Rice.
It's their duty and their promise so your child doesn't fall victim.
Feathers is out of jail on bond. If convicted, he will have to register as a sex offender.
