THV Hero Central Celebrates National Philanthropy Day

THV created Hero Central to bring attention to people in need and to recognize local heroes who are making a difference in people's lives. Wednesday, we found a number them in one place, the Embassy Suites in Little Rock.

A luncheon was held in honor of National Philanthropy Day.

Seven awards were given to various individuals, businesses, and organizations that have made a difference through charitable giving and service.

This year's outstanding philanthropist was Frank Lyon Jr. He was nominated by Lyon College for his deep commitment to education.

Other award recipients included Dennis Yungmeyer, Hanks Fine Furniture, Bank of America's Charitable Foundation, Abby Gates, Runway for a Cause and Joyce Taylor.
