Sister Mary Hottenroth found Sister Marguerite Bartz, "There's no doubt that Marguerite is with the Lord now and I think that's a real consolation."
Sister Mary Hottenroth is finding peace now that the FBI arrested a suspect in the murder of her friend, Sister Bartz, who was killed last Saturday night.
"We have been praying that they would find him quickly too, so there would not be any further dangers to the community."
Hottenroth went to Bartz's home the next day to check on her. She let herself in to find Bartz murdered.
"I think, just being aware that she was physically assaulted, the feelings of hurt that she must have been going through and that should not have happened," says Sister Hottenroth.
The crime shocked the small town of Navajo. This memorial to her grew over the last few days.
Sister Hottenroth says, "I can really feel the support of those prayers. I think I would be in such terrible condition without those prayers.
"A parishioner here came up with the idea of putting up these white ribbons and some people are even wearing them. It's a symbol of support to end the violence in this community," Sister Hottenroth adds as she shows the ribbon she is wearing.
"We're just going to miss her a whole lot. We miss her all the time now," Sister Hottenroth concludes.
The FBI has arrested 18-year-old Reehahlio Carroll for the murder.
