Gov. Beebe Extends Flag Lowering To Coincide With Presidential Order

Firday, President Barack Obama ordered U.S. flags at federal offices installations lowered to half-staff through Veterans Day in honor of those killed and wounded at Fort Hood in Texas on Thursday.

To coincide with this order, Governor Mike Beebe has extended the order requesting U.S. and Arkansas flags in our state to be flown at half-staff through Veterans Day as well.

The officer who trained Sergeant Kimberly Munley, the woman being praised for bringing down suspected shooter Nidal Malik Hasan, lives Arkansas.

Meantime, soldiers across the country continue to mourn the loss of their own. The Arkansas National Guard joined an army-wide moment of silence on Friday for the victims and family members.
