Authorities say 60-year-old Christine Yarrington and 51-year-old Lynn Burkett, both of Lamar, were arrested Thursday. Both are accused of eight counts of aggravated animal cruelty.

A court hearing is set for Nov. 6.

On Oct. 6, the sheriff's office and the Humane Society of the United States seized nearly 100 dogs, six cats and two guinea pigs from several trailers on a rural Johnson County property.
