It all happened at around 3:30 p.m. Thursday afternoon when a possible tornado swept through the fire academy in Calhoun County.

Several buildings were destroyed.  A fire truck was buried under debris and several cars were damaged.  When the storm hit, about 60 students were on campus.

Michael Eckelkamp is a student at the fire academy.  He says by the time they made it to the bathroom, all their ears started to pop then it got eerily quite for a second.

Harmony Grove picked up the students in a bus and eventually they were able to make it back to their dorms.

A community college nearby was also hit by the storm.  The gym was damaged and a trailer had tipped over.

Also in East Camden, 12 to 15 mobile homes were destroyed.  Fortunately, we haven't gotten any reports of injuries.
