It's Act 555. It went into effect in August and gives county tax collectors all over the state unprecedented power. They can send the sheriff to businesses with unpaid taxes, and serve them with a warrant to pay up within 60 days.

If they don't, the county can seize the business's inventory and sell it. According to Sebastian County Tax Collector Judith Miller, it's not just about the county getting its money.

She explains, "That affects your schools, your fire departments, your police departments and your cities. So it's a big factor that you're hold money away from them when we don't collect."

Sebastian County isn't the only county dealing with unpaid taxes. In Benton county, businesses owe more than $2 million from last year.
