3 Gassville Residents Arrested On Drug Charges

Three Gassville area residents have been arrested on drug-related charges and one person remains at large after Gassville Police Officers, Baxter County Sheriff's Investigators, and other officers served two search warrants over the past two days at residences near Gassville.

The Gassville Police Department received intelligence information of illicit drug activity at these locations and obtained sufficient evidence to procure search warrants for each location. The Gassville Police coordinated their activities with the Sheriff's Office and other agencies.

The first search warrant was served on the afternoon of Thursday, Oct. 15th at 1196 Cotter Rd just outside Gassville.

During this search, officers discovered a working methamphetamine laboratory. They seized approximately three grams of methamphetamine, various drug paraphernalia, and a misdemeanor amount of marijuana.

Two persons, identified as Joseph Wayne Denney and Johnese A. Denney, were taken into custody without incident at the scene. After the arrests, authorities got an arrest warrant for a third person at that residence, 49-year-old James A. Collins.

Agencies involved in this search were the Gassville Police Department, Baxter County Sheriff's Office, Mountain Home Police Department, Arkansas State Police - CID Section, Fourteenth Judicial Drug Task Force, and Adult Probation and Parole.

On the morning of Friday, Oct. 16th, Gassville Police Officers and Sheriff's Investigators served a second search warrant at 97 CR 710, just outside of Gassville.

One person, Deanna M. Kelley, 42-years-old of that residence, was taken into custody on a misdemeanor charge of possession of controlled substance, after officers seized a small amount of marijuana.

A third search warrant was also served at another, separate residence near Gassville on Friday morning, however specific information about that incident is not being released at this time. It is anticipated that charges will later be filed against a suspect residing there.

Those arrested and their charges are:

Joseph Wayne Denney, 23 years old of Gassville, charged with:
Possession of Controlled Subst. w/ Intent to Deliver - Meth - Felony
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia - Felony
Possession of Controlled Subst. - Marijuana - Misdemeanor

Johnese A. Denney, 23 years old of Gassville, charged with:
Possession of Controlled Subst. w/Intent to Deliver - Meth - Felony
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia - Felony
Possession of Controlled Subst. - Marijuana - Misdemeanor

Both Joseph and Johnese Denney are currently incarcerated in the Baxter County Detention Center with bond set at $25,000 each. Both will appear in Baxter County Circuit Court on October 22nd.

Deanna M. Kelley, 42 years old of Gassville, charged with: Possession of Controlled Subst. - Marijuana - Misdemeanor

Deanna Kelley was booked into the Detention Center and later released. She is scheduled to appear in Baxter County District Court on November 5th.

James A. Collins has been listed on the Most Wanted page of the Sheriff's Office web site. Any person having information as to his whereabouts is asked to contact the Gassville Police Department or the Sheriff's Office.
