On the Oct. 12 at about 5:17 a.m., the Lonoke County Sheriff's Office received a report of a burglar alarm at a church located on Toltec Mounds.

Deputy David Houser responded. Houser says he saw a black PT Cruiser sitting by the church with its lights off. He says as he approached the car, the driver tried to run him down. Houser fired at the car and thinks he hit the windshield.

He then started chasing the car but lost it in the area of Cornel Manner. The Pulaski County Sheriff's Office and additional Lonoke County deputies responded to the area to assist in the search but they didn't find the car. Jefferson County Sheriff's Office were also alerted concerning the search.

Authorities ask if you have any information about a black PT Cruiser with recent damage to the windshield or front section of the car to call the Lonoke County Sheriff's Office at (501) 676-3002 or (501) 676-3000
