2 Brothers Die In Independence County Fire

The Independence County Sheriff's Office says that firefighters were dispatched to a mobile home in Magness at about 1:15 Tuesday morning.

Authorities say 20-year-old Kristofer Thomas and 7-year-old Jason Doran were pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities say the children's mother, 40-year-old Tammi Thomas, was able to get out of the home and was taken to the White River Medical Center with severe burns.

Authorities say the exact cause of the fire is unknown, but investigators believe the blaze started in the kitchen area of the mobile home by an electric space heater.

The victims' bodies were sent to the state Crime Lab in Little Rock for autopsies.
