U.S. Rep. Mike Ross on Thursday defended the sale of his family owned Holly's Health Mart in Prescott in an interview with The Associated Press. USA Drug bought the pharmacy in 2007 for $420,000.

A watchdog group has questioned whether the company bought the property for a fair price. Documents show that, after the sale, the Nevada County assessor valued the property at $263,700.
In all, the drugstore chain paid Ross and his wife, Holly, $1.25 million for the store, including its assets and building, according to documents that the congressman's office released late Wednesday.
