Dozens of people repeatedly shouted at Lincoln as she spoke before a crowd of more than 800 people packed into an arena at Arkansas Tech University on Wednesday. At one point, an audience member repeatedly shouted and referred to advisers to President Barack Obama as "Communists."

The gathering Wednesday was the first of three town hall meetings Lincoln has scheduled around the state as the summer recess winds up. Lincoln, a Democrat, is holding the forums as she faces a tough re-election battle next year.

Six Republicans have announced bids for the Senate seat next year, and Senate President Bob Johnson says he's considering challenging Lincoln in the Democratic primary.
