Widener Mayor Gets Arrested, City Truck Taken Away

The City Council of Widener, Arkansas has decided Mayor Abron Pitts can't drive a city truck any more after the his second arrest on a driving-while-intoxicated charge.

Pitts was arrested about 10 p.m. Friday after driving the city truck to his home, with a state trooper in slow pursuit, following an attempt to make a traffic stop.

During a special meeting of the City Council Monday, the council voted unanimously not to allow Pitts to drive the city truck. He turned in a key, though he said he had others at home.
