Authorities: Magnolia Murder Gang-Related

Authorities say the July 23 death of a McNeil man was gang-related and five people have been arrested, including a juvenile.

An affidavit filed in the case says 40-year-old Dennis Cross was beaten unconscious, hit in the head with a brick then left on U.S. Highway 79 where he was run over by a car.

Columbia County sheriff's officials say Cross was beaten after an argument regarding a drug deal with 21-year-old Cardell Christopher of McNeil.

Christopher has been arrested for first-degree murder. Also arrested on a for first-degree murder is 29-year-old Terrance Manning and 33-year-old Rashan Parham of McNeil and 22-year-old Kevin Curry of Magnolia in addition to a 17-year-old from McNeil.
