Michael Gulley was being held on suspicion of murder. Jerry Mills was being held on drug, weapon and parole violation charges.

Both men were being held at the Pike County lockup for Nevada County authorities.

Gulley was being held in connection with the shooting death of 24-year-old Amy Smith. Smith was shot at a Prescott apartment last month.

Local authorities, along with Arkansas State Police and the Forestry Department are involved in the manhunt for the escapees. A State Police helicopter and K-9 units have been called in.
