But Cherilyn Lee, a registered nurse and nutritional counselor, says Jackson was distraught over persistent insomnia in recent months. Lee says Jackson pleaded for Diprivan, despite her warnings it could be harmful. She says she repeatedly rejected his demands for the drug, which is given intravenously.
Lee says she got a frantic phone call from Jackson four days before his death that made her fear that he gotten hold of Diprivan or another drug to induce sleep. She says she was in Florida when contacted by a Jackson staffer and heard Jackson saying in the background that one side of his body felt hot, the other side very cold.
Lee says she told the staffer that Jackson needed to go to the hospital "right away." Jackson did not go to the hospital. He died June 25, apparently from cardiac arrest.
