Scott County Circuit Judge Jerry Don Ramey handed down the sentence Wednesday to 59-year-old Phillip Holloway.

A jury convicted Holloway of second-degree murder earlier this month after an eight-day trial. He was found guilty in the July 22 beating death of 60-year-old Erma Holloway, who was killed at the couple's property near Waldron.

Erma Holloway's body was found floating in a pond near Phillip Holloway's cabin on July 23, and her vehicle was retrieved from the pond the next day.
