A jury deliberated five hours Tuesday before finding 59-year-old Phillip Holloway guilty in the July 22 beating death of 60-year-old Erma Holloway. She was killed at the couple's property near Waldron.

Holloway admitted to investigators he repeatedly kicked his wife during a fight at their home. When authorities arrived at the scene they found Holloway near a pond, crying and cradling the body of his wife.

A sentencing hearing is set for June 24.

Holloway was originally charged with first-degree murder.
