Criminal Investigator Ray Byrd with Perry County Sheriff's Department says Mark Hicks, 39, found out his girlfriend was at her ex-boyfriend's house and went there with a shotgun. Police say that he apparently saw Kelly "Lucky" Harrell had a large caliber rifle, so he tried to leave.
Police say Harrell shot Hicks twice in the head. Byrd says according to their investigation, Hicks never got out of the truck and never fired his gun. Police found him slumped over the steering wheel of his truck with it in reverse, engine running, and backed into a mobile home.
Harrell faces a first degree murder charge.
