Conway Area Chamber of Commerce Chairman Johnny Adams says the Palo Alto, Calif.-based computer company has finalized its lease with the Conway Development Corporation for the $35 million project.
HP has been offered more than $43 million in incentives from state and local officials for the center, which is expected to employ 1,200 people.
Hewlett-Packard Co. selected Conway as the site for the project in June. Since then, officials worked on final negotiations for the project that included financing, legal work and designing the building.
The Conway Development Corporation had to sign a confidentiality agreement with HP on the details of the lease. However, Adams says it was a 10-year lease with options to renew.
