Australia's Miss Universe contestant will grace the international stage next month wearing high heeled Ugg boots.
Designer Natasha Dwyer created Jesinta's controversial national costume. She drew inspiration from the outback and Australia's indigenous culture. It includes a swimsuit hand painted by an indigenous artist, sheepskin shrug and high heeled Ugg boots.
The costume is meant to capture what it means to be Australian, but critics say year after year the dress misses the mark.
A worldwide audience of millions will get to make their own minds up when Jesinta competes in Las Vegas next month.
Australia has never won the national costume category. Let's hope the judges like Uggs.
