One lawmaker is pushing for legislation that would require automated external defibrilators in every school that wants one.

North Little Rock Senator Tracy Steele introduced legislation to make automatic external defibrillators available in all schools; in honor of Parkview High Junior Antony Hobbs.

The 17-year old collapsed during a basketball game one year ago.

An autopsy revealed Hobbs had an enlarged heart.

Medical experts believe an AED on the premises would have improved his chances of survival.

Senator Steele says, "We're doing this in his honor, not so much because of how he died, how lived. He was a tremendous young man, athlete."

The bill would also provide funding for CPR training.

The money would come from the tobacco tax that just passed through a committee Wednesday.
