The Augusta Community Literacy Advocacy Project is to be celebrated in a program Tuesday morning at the Little Rock Club, atop the Regions Bank Building in the downtown area.

The project began in 2006, led by Joy Lynn Bowen. She and others with the program are constantly looking for ways to involve local people in reading and writing projects.

The results include a volume of articles about service veterans, to be published in conjunction with a veterans memorial to be unveiled soon. Another project involved high school students writing about their churches.
