Classes start next Wednesday with 7th- and 8th-graders at an old middle school in Hatfield where they finished out classes after the tornado. The building had been vacant after Hatfield consolidated with Mena. It was renovated during the summer.

Sixth-graders will be in portable buildings on an elementary school campus.

The district plans to convert the high school into a middle school when a new high school that was already being planned is finished.

The EF3 tornado that struck April 9 killed three people. Damage in the district is estimated at $8 to $12 million.
