Rose Marie Roberts, 50, remained in the Independence County Jail on Thursday. In a court affidavit, detective Michael Mundy said Roberts reportedly also exposed herself to children in her classroom.
Superintendent Ted Hall told The Batesville Daily Guard that Roberts had been removed from the roster of substitute teachers. Deputies say Rose had a criminal history including arrests for drunken driving, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.
Hall said the school did a background check on Rose, but the law requires officials to let substitute teachers work as they await the results.
