BENTON, Ark. (KTHV) -- Benton police have arrested a 22-year-old man for 1st degree battery after a reported incident involving the man and a juvenile.
Christopher Jones allegedly shook a small infant, causing trauma to the child on Tuesday. The state Child Abuse hotline notified officers about this incident. The child is in intensive care at Arkansas Children's Hospital.
Jones is being held at the Saline County Detention Facility in lieu of a $500,000 bond. More charges are expected to be filed soon. Anyone with any information relating to this incident is encouraged to contact the Benton Police Department at 778-1171 or 315-TIPS.
