Pam Baccam joined Today's THV in March 2008 as a backpack journalist and education reporter.
Pam is now the main anchor for THV's Saturday and Sunday evening newscasts. She came to THV in 2008 as the market's only education reporter. She helped start Today's THV's first Saturday morning newscast as the show's first anchor and managing editor.
Pam was awarded the prestigious Edward R. Murrow Award for Continuing Coverage in 2009 of the teacher union strike in the Pulaski County Special School District. She's won several Associated Press awards including first place in 2010 for continuing coverage of a helicopter crash, second place in 2010 for her enterprise story of Charleston's desegregation, and second place in 2008 for her feature story of Wilburn Elementary closing.
Pam graduated from Iowa State University and landed her first job in television at KGAN in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She's also worked as a radio reporter for WFIU in Bloomington, Indiana. Prior to arriving at THV, Pam was the assistant multimedia editor for the Springfield News-Leader in Springfield, Missouri.
Pam was born and raised in Iowa. Her family is of the Tai Dam tribe from Southeast Asia and moved to the United States as refugees from Laos and Thailand. Pam studied abroad in Bangkok, Thailand where she learned to speak Thai. She also speaks her native language Tai Dam and Laotian. Pam loves spending time with her husband Todd and her cat Popcorn. She loves to cook, garden, travel, and enjoys outdoor activities that the Little Rock area has to offer.
