14 Ark. schools receive Lowe's Toolbox for Education grants

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) - Lowe's has awarded 14 local schools education grants.

The schools received grants during the fall of 2011 grant cycle, which included more than 585 schools and parent organizations.

The following Arkansas schools received the Lowe's Toolbox for Education grants:

-Berryville Intermediate School, Berryville: $5,000 for greenhouse installation

-Elkins Elementary School, Elkins: $4,950 for outdoor classroom for science program

-Greenbrier High School, Greenbrier: $3,800 for kitchen equipment upgrades

-Eagle Heights Elementary School, Harrison: $5,000 for playground renovations

-Langston Magnet School, Hot Springs: $2,600 for outdoor classroom and landscaping

-Lavaca Middle School, Lavaca: $5,000 for outdoor classroom/eating area

-Acorn High School, Mena: $5,000 for outdoor classroom/grounds beautification

-Mountain Home High School Career Academy, Mountain Home: $2,500 for school garden/greenhouse

-Cedar Ridge Junior High School, Newark: $5,000 for nature trail upgrades

-Riverview High School, Searcy: $5,000 for courtyard renovations

-Sheridan Middle School, Sheridan: $5,000 for outdoor classroom/reading garden

-North Heights Junior High School, Texarkana: $3,140 for parent resource center

-Eastside Primary School, Warren: $5,000 for outdoor classroom/reading garden

-West Memphis High School, West Memphis: $4,000 for reading nook for existing library
