CENTERVILLE, Ark. (AP) - Authorities say a head-on collision in western Arkansas has killed five people, including two young brothers, and injured three other children.

Arkansas State Police say the crash happened Sunday afternoon on Arkansas Highway 7 near Centerville. Authorities say a car driven by 28-year-old Joey Nichols crossed the center line and struck a vehicle driven by 56-year-old Clara Meriweather, who had five children in her car.

Meriweather, along with 24-year-old Jessica Nichols and 13-year-old Jesse Meriweather, died at the scene. Joey Nichols and 12-year-old Robert Meriweather died at a hospital.

Arkansas Children's Hospital says the three injured children were in good condition Monday.

School officials say the two boys killed were brothers and attended the middle school in Jessieville. The other victims' relationships and crash details haven't been released.
