ROBINSON MANUEVER TRAINING CENTER, Ark. (Jan. 27) - The Director of the Army National Guard notified The Adjutant General of Arkansas Friday that the 39th Infantry Brigade Combat Team is no longer scheduled for mobilization.

"Although the 39th Infantry Brigade does not have a current deployment tasking, they remain ready to respond to the needs of the state and nation," said Maj. Gen. William D. Wofford, the adjutant general of Arkansas.

The 39th received notification of a possible mobilization just two years after returning home from Iraq in December 2008, and four years after its first deployment to Iraq in 2004 - 2005.

The brigade's approximately 3,000 Soldiers have undergone intense training over the past year, and the 39th will remain in the Army's available pool of units for potential mobilization until October.
