UNDATED (CNN) - iPhones, iPads, Mac computers; Apple is one of the hottest companies out there, and its sales set records last quarter.

In the last three months of 2011, Apple sold a scorching 37 million iPhones. That was double the previous quarter and helped the company post its best results ever.

Investors loved it, sending Apple's stock to an all-time high on Wednesday. In fact, Apple is now the most valuable company in the world, edging past Exxon-Mobil in terms of stock value.

Apple generated $46 billion in sales during October, November and December of last year. That's the most of any tech company ever.

And it turned a whopping $13 billion profit during the quarter, one of the best for any U.S. company, ever. And it wasn't just iPhones that boosted those numbers.

iPads, Mac computers, even iPods were flying off the shelves, partly thanks to the holiday shopping season.

It's also worth nothing that this was the company's first profit report since the passing of co-founder Steve Jobs in early October.

But the results obviously would have made him proud, as Apple continues to invent and improve products that have become consumer necessities.

If you have a new iPhone 4 S or know someone who does, ask "Siri" how Apple posted the best quarter ever for a tech company. Her answer should be "me."
