ORANGE COUNTY, CA (KCAL) -- You don't meet families like this every day.
After adopting two children who were abused and abandoned, the Ying Ling family from Fullerton welcomes a third daughter, with a past most people couldn't imagine.
Nine-year-old Cami was a little timid the first time she met her new family. She greeted her two new sisters, 6-year-old Katie, who has special needs and 4-year-old Becky, also adopted from China. Plus, she now has an older brother.
"Something we were called to do," says Doug Ying Ling.
Doug and his wife Karen took a leap of faith several months back after hearing Cami's story and began the adoption process.
"What do we give up to help a child's life be better," says Karen. We let fear get in way of doing great things."
This won't be an easy transition however.
Cami was burned when she was two and left along the side of the road. She had been living in an orphanage for seven years.
The family discoverd Cami throguh the Children's Burn Foundation (CBF). Local doctor Peter Grossman donated his time to reconstruct her face and body. All Cami's medical costs will be taken care of by the CBF until she's an adult.
