LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- Here are some fun events for you and your family in central Arkansas.

Mexican Independence Day Celebration
Friday, September 16, 2011
4 p.m. - 9 p.m.
The Clinton Center is proud to host the Mexican Independence Day Festival on the grounds of the Presidential Park this month. Celebrating the 201st anniversary of Mexico's independence from Spain, the festival is family friendly and free. Authentic Mexican food and beverages will be available for purchase.

The Horace B. Smedley Tornadoes are a pitiful, undisciplined losing football team. It's all that the kids in Room 207 can talk about. Can the world's meanest substitute teacher whip the team into shape in time for the big game? You won't believe what happens when the notorious Viola Swamp returns! Mane Event to benefit Beyond Boundaries
River Market Pavilion
Saturday, Sept. 17, 7 p.m.
The is the largest fundraiser for Beyond Boundaries, the equine-assisted hippotherapy program of Allied Therapy. The event kicks off at 7 p.m. and will include a live band, food, drinks and a silent and live auction. Tickets are $50 per person and $75 per couple.
