Miracle Chasers Kids Triathlon

Arkansas Children's Hospital is proud to present the inaugural Miracle Chasers kids' triathlon from 8 a.m. - noon on the University of Arkansas at Little Rock campus. The triathlon, which is the first of its kind in central Arkansas, will include a run, bike ride and swim. Children ages 6-10 will participate in a 50-yard swim, 2-mile bike ride and a ½ mile run. Children ages 11-15 year olds will participate in a 100-yard swim, 4-mile bike ride, and a one-mile run.

Registration fee: $20, which includes a goody bag, medal and participant t-shirt.
Registration deadline: July 15
Packet pick-up: 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Friday, July 15 at the ACH Fitness Center, located at 1621 W. 10th Street. Packets can also be picked up on event day from 6:30 - 7:15 a.m.
What to bring: Bicycle helmet, swimsuit, goggles and towel. Participants will also need to have their bib and bike numbers handy.
Strange Matter
Mid-America Science Museum
This hands-on exhibit delves into the world of materials science, or the study of "stuff." A dynamic blend of physics, chemistry and engineering, this field of research studies how things are put together, how they might be improved, or how they can change to create brand new materials. From metals to crystals to magnets to glass, Strange Matter will give visitors the chance to dig into the science behind the materials they use every day. Strange Matter uses science to explore the bizarre world of modern materials and provide a glimpse into where the future of they might take us. Museum hours are 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. 7 days a week. Super Summer Saturdays
Clinton Presidential Center
10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Each Saturday this summer from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., kids can enjoy Elvis-inspired fun at the Center. On this day, there will be a movie matinee of "King Creole." Admission is free, but regular admission applies to tour the library and exhibits. For info: 374-4242.
