MORRILTON, Ark. (KTHV) -- The Morrilton Police Department is investigating a Tuesday morning homicide.
Police say the homicide occurred approximately at 10:45 a.m. at 905 W. Elm Street.
Police responded to the house after a 911 call about a shooting. When police arrived they found 29-year-old Michael Brockman of Morrilton on the ground with a gunshot wound.
According to the 911 caller, the suspect left in a maroon
Saturn. At 11 a.m. a Conway County Sheriff's deputy found the vehicle on Highway 213 in the Hattieville area and the driver was taken into custody.
The driver was identified as Jeremy Walls, 21 of Hattieville. He is currently in the Conway County Detention Center awaiting the filing of formal charges.
Police say it was a verbal altercation that escalated to the shooting.
