LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) -- Little Rock police are after two men, who robbed a postal worker at gun point.
Tuesday, hundreds of people in Little Rock want to know what happened to their mail. The post office stopped delivery in a couple of neighborhoods, in response to a robbery. The crime happened Saturday; now mail in the Meadowcliff subdivision and surrounding areas is suspended.
The people in this Little Rock neighborhood have something in common, other than bordering Hindman Park. The post office has indefinitely suspended mail delivery to about 700 homes in the Meadowcliff and Brookview subdivisions.
James Rose says he did not get any notice. "I think it's an inconvenience for everyone around here, especially for myself being a business owner you know I'm not home much when I get in most of the time the post office will be closed now so I don't like it," says Rose.
U.S. postal inspectors are looking for robbers who police say targeted a postal carrier, Saturday.
The police report says teen suspects pointed a gun at the mail carrier and robbed him of his pocket knife, dog spray and cell phone. Now people have to go three miles away to the post office with their IDs to pick up mail.
"We all feel that we're being penalized for what happened to Meadowcliff," says homeowner Gloria Cochran.
Postal inspector Daniel Medrano he says he doesn't expect the suspension to last too much longer. He says the crime against the postal worker is a federal offense subject to 25 years in prison.
