LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV)--The University of Arkansas at Little Rock hosted their Spring Career Connections Day on campus Wednesday to offer students career advice and counseling.

Employers from area businesses were also in attendance to conduct on the site interviews and offer advice.

Brian Henderson with the College of Business at UALR says there are several things to do and not to do in the job interview.

According to Henderson, the number one way to mess up is not dressing professionally.

Keep away from controversial issues such as politics, religion and personal information like family or hobbies. Also, know what you want to do. Employers want to hear you say what you can offer and what you are looking for in a career.

From the lasting first impression - wearing the appropriate business attire and arriving on time, to your follow-up with a sincere and timely thank you note, the "not-to-do" can be just as important as the "to-do" when it comes to the interview.

Today's THV's Lauren Clark attended the fair and you can see the full story by clicking on the video at the top of this page.
